Loughborough University
Loughborough University is based a short walk from the centre of the town of the same name (20 minutes south of Nottingham by train).
It’s based on a long campus that takes around twenty minutes to traverse by foot, although the accommodation is generally very central, meaning it’s never more than a quick dash to early morning lectures.
Sport is the university’s most famous pastime, and the campus is dotted with state of the art pitches and facilities. In fact, on any given day you’ll be sure to spot some famous sports stars on their way to training. Aside from sports, Loughborough has forged a solid academic reputation for itself over the last few years, and the students are generally believers in the work hard, play hard philosophy.
Famous alumni include a host of sportspeople, including marathon runner Paula Radcliffe, rower Steve Redgrave and runner Sebastian Coe, but also many engineers, politicians, and writers.
