Queen Mary University of London

Queen Mary, University of London, is really very close to the business quarter of London (6 minutes east of Liverpool Street Station by Underground train), as well as many of the up-and-coming districts of London’'s East End.

Despite this very central location the campus can seem quite quiet, being set by a calm canal and overlooking a park. Indeed, part of this tranquility comes form the old Jewish cemetery based at the centre of the campus, which adds a quirky charm to Queen Mary's.

A little further into London, at Whitechapel, is the hospital and campus catering to students of medicine and dentistry. There's a students'’ union over there, too, making the Whitechapel campus effectively a self-contained campus.

Notable graduates of Queen Mary, University of London, include the late author JG Ballard, cricketer WG Grace, Iron Maiden front man Bruce Dickinson, and the novelist Sarah Waters.
