Swansea University

Swansea’s green campus lies a short bus ride from the city centre (1 ½ hours west from Bristol), very close to the sea front and the nearby Gower Peninsula. The proximity of both city and surf appeals to students with a need for both the services of the urban centre as well as the chance to leave civilization behind for a while.

The bulk of the campus is located within parkland, and here you’ll find some of the accommodation. Most students, however, live for their first year in the nearby student village, which operates like a self-sufficient little town.

Notable alumni from Swansea University include rugby player Alun Wyn Jones, England cricketer Simon Jones, and Dr Lyn Evans of the Large Hadron Collider.
