University of Leeds

The city of Leeds lies off the M1 in the heart of Yorkshire, making it simple to get to from most parts of the country. If you’re coming by train, the station is in the centre of the city (2½ hours north from London). Just north of the city centre, and close to the student districts of Hyde Park and Headingley, the University of Leeds is one of the most popular universities in the UK. The main campus has a vibrant buzz about it and some interesting architecture, from the art deco styled Parkinson building, to the rabbit warren of 70s lecture halls and class rooms, connected by some of the longest corridors in the world.

Notable Leeds alumni include Labour politicians Jack Straw and Clare Short, cartoonist Steve Bell, musician Mark Knopfler, and comedian Alistair MacGowan.
