University of Lincoln

The University of Lincoln sitss right beside the main shopping streets of the city, and a very short walk form the station (one hour north of Peterborough). It’s a new university, founded in the 1990s, and the majority of buildings around campus reflect that youth.

There are, however, a couple of exceptions. The first is the main library, which is a blend of old and new, mixing contemporary glass with the weathered brick of the old warehouse. The second exception is at the Riseholme Campus, a short bus ride away in the countryside, where the old bishop’s mansion sits at the heart of the campus.

Due to its youth, the University of Lincoln has not had time to produce famous alumni.
