University of Wales, Lampeter
The University of Wales, Lampeter, is not a big university, nor is it in a big town. Situated about 25 miles from Aberystwyth in the countryside of south-west Wales, Lampeter is a university on a small scale.
Everything you’d need is present on campus, from accommodation halls to sports facilities, while the Student Union acts much like at any other university, only with less members. The result is a very friendly campus where the students all know each other and their professors, which makes for a refreshing change from some of Britain’s larger universities. The town offers a little in the way of a social life, with some nice pubs and a handful of restaurants, but perhaps the biggest draw is the proximity of the great outdoors.
Graduates from Lampeter include author EA Markham, journalist Peter Paphides, and news presenter Juliette Foster.
